CGI is an abbreviation for Computer Graphic Imaging and is a very widely used term for everything from gaming graphics and movies down to product visualizations, the latter being of interest to us. Up until now CGI only played a minor role in our company as the target audience for this usually isn’t within the engineering departments.
Despite this we have started applying this to be able to present our work in a more realistic way and more suitable for the management department.
Instead of using the normal screen shots from the CAD world, CGI helps to present the relatively crude work in a more realistic way for the people not directly involved in the engineering process.
